Training for nurses at London School of Hygiene
and Tropical Medicine
This course is intended for experienced registered nurses and midwives who have or will work in developing countries. Through practical sessions, they gain insight into primary health care in developing countries; learn to maximize care with minimum resources, and understand the importance of promoting health through prevention rather than cure. We provide a 3 hour practical training session on oral healthcare using the Teeth Relief Manual.

We also run a similar session for Doctors studying the LSHTM Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene. The Nursing course runs twice a year, the Doctors once a year, so in total we provide 3 sessions annually. We rely on voluntary help for these and this can be linked to verifiable CPD hours so if you are a dentist or oral health practitioner and would like to get involved - please apply via the CPD section - we're always pleased to have help and can promise you a rewarding session too.
